Have been to this restaurant a bunch of times, and as hard as I try to like it for its charm and attempt to emulate a Manhattan steakhouse, each time I go it just disappoints more and more. Was there this past weekend with a big group for a birthday, and the food was poor, but the treatment we receive from the management was a complete farce. We were asked to move out table half way through our meal due to we were being too loud.. adults celebrating a 50th birthday, real raucous crowd. The manager, Paul Kelly I believe his name was, has no right managing a car wash, no less a purported high end restaurant. He hasn't a clue on what to say or how to handle people. It was like talking to a 5 year old. After we had a problem, but moved without much of a fuss, the owner (Jim McCoy) didn't even have the nerve to approach our table and discuss the matter. I live in New York city and dine out quite often, and have never seen a group of amateurs as this running a restaurant. A taco bell they may be more suited for. Take my advice.. steer clear of Number 5.... unless you like paying top dollar for average food served by a bunch of clueless management staff.. they would probably have trouble running a lemonade stand...

If you want great food and exceptional service, you can either go to NYC or Number 5. It does cost more than Ponderossa or Red Lobster, but it is in a different league! If you enjoy mass-produced frozen food, go to those other places, but if you want true quality, go to Number 5!

Want a good steak, don't go here. You can get a better piece of beef at Ponderosa for pennies. Craving for Lobster, Take my advice go to Red Lobster instead of Number 5. You'll get more bang for you Buck at Red Lobster. Number Five is way overpriced and their food isnt's that good. The staff is uppity and the owner of Number Five is overbearing and doesn't like to accomodate his customers. He is insulting to his staff and customers alike. I've been there three times and I give it three strikes. If I want a good meal I'll travel to New York City to get a real NYC meal from real chefs.

You'd have to work about 20 hours to pay for a decent dinner for two. It's great if you have a ton of money to blow on highly overrated food-served up by an unimpressive wait staff, who give you the impression that it's an effort for them to be working..I didn't like fighting my way through the crowd of divorcee's to get to my table..the place reeks of cheap perfume and really bad lawyers. I suggest taking a walk up the street to A WHOLE IN THE WALL....real food for real people.

Not for daily dining; the food was absolutely delicious, at no point was salt or pepper required. When the waitress asked, I questioned whether she had ever tasked the food herself. As with anything in life, however, you get what you pay for. Four person dining totalled $275, before tip, but the over all experience was well worth it.
